Punctual as every spring, it will start this year the parade of floats that has become a ritual for tourists and locals throughout the famous Dutch area for the cultivation of bulb flowers and, of course, flowering tulips, hyacinths and daffodils.
We are talking about the whole area between Haarlem, Lisse and Noordwijk, colorfully decorated flat lands and perfumes.
The show program still provides events between April 20 and April 23, although the actual path with moving carts will only Friday 22 and Saturday, April 23. Sunday, 24 wagons will be on display in the square in Haarlem and judged by the judges.
Let's start with the "construction days" program, an interesting initiative that allows everyone to see live the construction of wagons and cover them with fresh flowers before the chariot go into the street.
The place where you can admire the work of volunteers is located in Sassenheim, a country between Lisse and Noordwijk, exactly Tennishal de Kinkenberg in Rijksstraatweeg 52, a structure of indoor tennis courts which on this occasion will be used as a shed for the construction of wagons.
The days and times to visit the work volunteers are as follows:
- 20th April 2016, from 9:00 to 22:00
- 21st April 2016, from 9:00 to 22:00
- 22nd April 2016, from 9:00 to 13:00
The cost of admission is:
- 5€ for adults
- 4,50€ per person for groups of 20 or more people
- 2€ for children from 6 to 12 years
- Gratis per i bambini fino a 6 anni
included in the ticket price a cup of coffee or tea.
The real parade, as we said, will start instead of Friday 22nd to fully illuminated Noordwijkerhout with his chariots through the streets of the city until about 22 ca..On April 23rd , however the wagons will "walk" in the light of day and, after leaving Noordwijkerhout around 9:30, will cross Vorhout at 11:30 ca. Sassenheim at 12:30, Lisse at 14:45 and especially the Keukenhof park from which you can temporarily leave around 15:30, Hillegom at 16:45, Bonnebroek at 19:25, Hamstede at 19:50 and finally Haarlem, where the parade will end between 20:35 and 21:15.
Sunday, April 24 wagons remain in Haarlem to be admired by all.
