The magic of autumn and carriages of the nineteenth century at the Parco Giardino Sigurtà

A dive in the past on a romantic day welcomed by the beautiful weather that, at Parco Giardino Sigurtà , gave birth to the colors of autumn and parade of carriages of the nineteenth century on a day that for the second consecutive year saw  a large presence of enthusiastic public at the idea of admiring not only the beauty of the Parco Giardino during its seasonal evolution, but also the traditional clothes, costumes and traditional dances of the nineteenth century.

The calash

An event which has certainly could not miss the Sigurtà family that has welcomed visitors with two family cars, including the calash thans to which Dr. Sigurtà bought the farm that in time became the Garden Park that everyone today can admire and enjoy.

The story that links this place to the chalash is really curious: in 1941, Dr. Giuseppe Carlo Sigurtà, who had to move frequently between Desenzano del Garda and Milan for work reasons, was forced to seek alternative means of transport because, in War time fuel shortage did not make it too easy to use motor vehicles. It was then that he went to Veleggio sul Mincio, a handicraft manufacturing center where, during negotiations, he was offered an infinite agricultural land of which he became owner, including the secular right to draw water from the River Mincio.

Year after year the estate turned into what slowly is nowadays known as the Parco Giardino Sigurtà .

The event

The 2017 edition saw an increase both in the presence of visitors and in the active participation of "exhibitions" concerning the event itself: The Venezia Ottocento group was represented by 60 dancers who gave emotions and atmospheres of the era in the colorful context of Sigurtà, while the Tederazione  Italiana Sport Croquet organized demonstrations involving the public in this refined sport and other typical of the era as rings, skulls and flywheels.

The most daring ones, that is, those who came to the Sigurtà already dressed in the costumes of the era, were entitled to the free entry and, of course, the chance to capture themselves in beautiful photos of the autumn colors of the Parco Giardino Sigurtà: the gold , yellow, ocher and red.
