The big news of the XI edition of Verdemura, scheduled from 6 to 8 April in Lucca, is definitely the opening of the venue where the event will take place. The area in which Verdemura, the younger sister of Murabilia, will be held will be wider, more panoramic, easier to access and included between the bulwark of Santa Croce and that of San Bernardo.
At the end of January, the exhibitors registered for the event were already 200 but others are expected to refurbish and expand the offer of the plants which, in any case, will be the largest and most extensive among those of the Italian spring gardening exhibitions.
There will also be the opportunity to purchase products for gardening, garden furniture and anything else useful for outdoor
The camellias of the Lucchesia and the new camellias selected by the Rhododendron nursery of Andrea Antongiovanni will return, and at San Ginese di Compito for many years has been carrying out an intense and patient work of hybridization and sowing. The announcement of news and new varietal names will take place in March.
An exhibition dedicated to the Saxifraga, a species used to living mainly in the mountains, will be present with hybrids
obtained by collectors from Eastern Europe, which bloom in April, giving
a spectacular and unique vision thanks to its multitude of colors.
Another exhibition will feature the wisteria that will be exhibited through one of the largest collections in Europe and, above all, thanks to that of Francesco Vignoli, a well-known Pistoia nursery who has undertaken to bring to Verdemura as many as 35 different species.
Among the events of this XI edition there will also be the announcement of the projects of the sei giardini di Mura
creative that will be set up during Murabilia in September.
Starting from April 6th, between the history of Lucca and in full spring atmosphere, Verdemura will be an event marked by greenery, gardening and relaxation in the open air.
