Cernobbio (CO), 21 November 2019 - After having touched the threshold of 30,000 visitors, Orticolario begins to prepare to enchant again, to give new wonder. Once the maps have been put aside and
the suitcases destroyed, the cultural event dedicated to an advanced concept of garden and gardening is heading towards the twelfth edition, scheduled from 2 to 4 October 2020 at Villa Erba in
Cernobbio, on Lake Como. And here is the appearance of the next edition: the theme of the year will be "Seduction", the plant will be the Maple.
Also open the international competition "Spazi Crativi" 2020 for the design and construction of gardens and artistic installations that, inspired by the theme of the year, will be selected to be set up for the event in the historic park of Villa Erba: the jury evaluates the projects of original spaces, livable and usable gardens, which contemplate a dialogue with the surrounding space, respect it and enhance it. The projects must interpret the pre-existing landscape with creative freedom and material choices and with the possibility of using the most diverse languages and artistic / cultural references. The commission is particularly attentive to the quality of the inspiration behind the project, and the use of contributions other than the pure "Art of the Garden" can be distinctive. In the announcement it is specified that the interpretation of the topic is binding for the realization of the project. As per tradition, the competition is aimed at creatives, architects, designers, artists, landscapers, gardeners and nurserymen."The theme of 'Seduction' can be read in infinite ways, not only as a spell and ritual among living beings, but also as a social and cultural fact capable of inspiring and shaping arts and thoughts - explains Anna Rapisarda, curator of Orticolario. - We invite artists, designers and anyone who wants to participate in the international competition 'Spazi Creativi', to unleash fantasy and senses, to let 'seduce by seduction'. To probe the theme, deepen it, not stop on the surface ".
The selected projects, created as part of Orticolario 2020, will be evaluated by an international jury: the winner (in 2019 the "Move n 'meet" space, designed by Mirco Colzani, created in collaboration with the students of the Minoprio Foundation) will be awarded the "La Foglia d'Oro of Lake Como" award, created exclusively by Archimede Seguso Artistic Glassworks in Murano (VE). The prize is unique and is kept by the winner for a limited period, to then be exhibited at Villa Carlotta, in Tremezzo, on Lake Como until the next edition of Orticolario. The names of the winners are included in the roll of honor displayed next to the prize.
Registration for the competition is free and must be sent in writing no later than January 31st 2020 to the Orticolario Organizing Secretariat, at the e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org. The complete regulation, the announcement and all the details are available on the Orticolario website at this link: http://orticolario.it/concorso-internazionale-spazi-creativi/
"Map of the 2020 edition is the Maple which, with its over 200 species, represents one of those botanical realities admired for the shapes and colors of the leaves and trunks, and for its 'winged' fruits - the founder comments and president Moritz Mantero. - Just at the arrival of autumn, the chromatic mutation of the Maple represents a show, 'half of tourist pilgrimages. And just in Orticolario, a few years ago, in 2015, in the seventh edition, his seed, the samara, was depicted in arabesque marble by Cervaiole by the expert hands of the Valtellina artist Alex Bombardieri ".
And while Orticolario 2020 is already starting to seduce, the eleventh edition finally closes with the draw of the winner of the "Viaggia con Orticolario" competition, Lina Stefania Romano from Como, who wins a weekend for two in Sardinia, in collaboration with Benetti Viaggi Como and Resort Valle dell'Erica Thalasso & SPA, exclusive 5-star hotel in Santa Teresa Gallura.
It should be remembered that the purpose of Orticolario is to promote the culture of the landscape and raise funds for associations in the Lario area engaged in social work, active in the realization of the event.
