Outdoor living finds its exceptional showcase in the beating heart of the Brera Design District. With dOT, the churchyard and the cloister of St. Mark's Basilica are transformed into a fascinating urban garden that develops the theme of travel, creating four exceptional settings. Between pieces by the author and fascinating atmospheres. Under the banner of green spaces and outdoor design & living.
At the Fuorisalone in September, the maxi-installation immersed in lush nature transforms (from 5 to 10 September) the churchyard and cloister of the church of San Marco in Brera into an oasis of greenery, beauty and conviviality. Leading outdoor design brands compose refined outdoor settings, showcasing an exceptional portfolio of design solutions, furnishings and accessories, enhanced in an unprecedented, lush and sparkling natural landscape.
The dOT 2021 event - the journey: between nature, designer pieces and lifestyle
IThe theme of the fourth edition is travel, interpreted through four emotional settings and atmospheres, from beaches to country chic corners, from mountain views to city terraces: a rooftop on the skyscraper that becomes an intimate nest under the stars, the comfortable orangery of the countryside, essences of wood that dominate the mountain views, the excellent performance and aesthetic results designed for relaxation by the sea.
Sea, mountains, countryside and cities are enhanced and made unique by the careful use of plants, trees, shrubs and selected furnishings: four examples of how open spaces can become inspiration for style and a source of relaxation, punctuated by an urban garden characterized by variegated and valuable tree essences, such as the field maple, the cypress olive tree, the rare examples of fir and birch trees, the centuries-old vine, saccharine maple, ginkgo biloba, magnolias, herbs, citrus fruits, olive trees centuries-old, the strawberry trees and palms.
In the center, a square and a cycle / pedestrian path - a symbol of green mobility in the rediscovery of places, knowledge and flavors - act as collectors and crossroads for all the settings on display.
The result is a circuit in an unexpected urban garden between changing micro-landscapes, facilities for welcoming and relaxing gazebos, walkways and roofs, lights and open-air lounges, furnishing accessories and tastings.
Among fascinating atmospheres and designer pieces, we highlight among others the vases designed by Philippe Starck, the lights by Mario Cucinella, Michele De Lucchi, Adriana Lohmann and Emanuel Gargano, the upholstered furniture by Marco Piva, the seats and tables by Progetto CMR , the beds by Marc Sadler, the seats by Raffaella Mangiarotti, by Riccardo Giovannetti, the furnishings by Christophe Pillet, the pieces by Garth Roberts, the vases by Patricia Urquiola, the counter by Andrea Mancuso.
dOT's journey continues in the cloister of the basilica, to discover craftsmanship, materials, design and production processes and a selection of authentic flavors, and continues, every day, with a schedule of meetings with outdoor companies and important names of design, to talk about large-scale materials, visions and forecasts, from product design to urban planning.
dOT creates an orchestrated environment with soft balance, offering visitors a range of high-level solutions that meet new living and design habits, which transform the distribution and balance of domestic spaces and hospitality by removing the boundaries between in & out to create new, exciting 'outdoor rooms'. In the name of fluid living.
